Dr. Habib Khan

Dr. Habib Khan is an award-winning neurologist and sleep specialist at the Arizona Institute of Neurology & Polysomnography in Casa Grande, Arizona. Born in Pakistan, he pursued his medical education with determination, overcoming significant obstacles to establish his career in the United States. His journey from foreign medical graduate to distinguished neurologist involved years of residency training at Rutgers, fellowship study in sleep medicine, and persistent dedication to excellence in patient care.

Dr. Khan is a published poet and author. His book ‘An Ounce of Prevention’ demonstrates his creative thinking and proactive approach to healthcare, emphasizing prevention over reactive treatment. His memoir ‘Do You Mind?’ chronicles his personal and professional journey, offering insight and encouragement to immigrant physicians and anyone facing difficult transitions.

In 2012, Dr. Khan founded the DIL Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established to address Disease, Illiteracy, and Lack of resources. The foundation supports communities in Phoenix by providing low-cost healthcare, lifestyle counseling, and entrepreneurial education to underserved populations.

His leadership extends to professional organizations and government service. The Governor of Arizona appointed him to the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, where he served from 2015 to 2017. He served as President of the Arizona chapter of APPNA, the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America, from 2014 to 2016. Dr. Khan believes healthcare should be proactive, accessible, and personalized, principles that guide both his clinical practice and his community service initiatives.
